Veterinary medicine, this boundless ocean of science, is a world that encompasses all branches of medicine within its vastness. From precise surgeries to diagnosing internal diseases, from parasitology to virology, and from food safety to controlling zoonotic diseases. In this ocean, every veterinarian is a swimmer who must navigate all these fields and acquire broad knowledge, though sometimes only superficially.
This breadth is precisely the one-meter depth that sometimes poses challenges for us. To save an animal in an emergency, we need a cardiology specialist; to treat a complex skin condition, a dermatology specialist; and for a delicate surgical procedure, a surgical specialist. It is here that we realize this ocean, despite its vastness, requires a deep well of expertise in each of its individual sections.
However, this very “one-meter depth” is our strength. It enables us, as the first line of defense for animal health, to diagnose all kinds of issues and, when necessary, guide the patient in the right direction. Veterinary medicine is a multifaceted field where every step we take involves saving a life.

To tell you the truth, Vetomid is a space I created—myself, Omid Mohammadi, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) student—to share everything we learn at university and from reliable sources with you in a simple and friendly language. Here, you’ll find a wealth of credible articles, all translated or written from solid, firsthand sources. My goal is for everyone to better understand their animals and, with accurate information and care, provide them with the best possible care. I run this place all by myself! To be honest, the veterinary articles you see here are the result of extensive study and delving into scientific sources and my own specialized books. I find the articles from reliable veterinary references and reputable international scientific journals, read them, and then rewrite them in a friendly and simple language so that all of us can benefit from them. My goal is to ensure that everything you read here comes from a reliable and scientifically sound source, because the health of our beloved animals is no joke. In short, I’ve taken on the responsibility myself to ensure the site's content is completely trustworthy and accurate.
So if our pet gets sick, should we contact you?
No, buddy, pay attention! This site is only for general information and absolutely cannot replace a specialized veterinarian. For diagnosis and treatment, the animal must be examined in person and may require various tests. If, God forbid, you see that your pet is not doing well or has unusual symptoms, don’t waste even a moment and take them to a veterinarian immediately. My articles are only for increasing awareness and are definitely not for online treatment consultation. An in-person visit is always the best and safest way.
